Do You Wonder What Your Military Academy Looks Like?

Here's an aerial view of West Point, taken by a 1973 graduate who does aerial photography for a living. The picture was taken 2 days ago, on "Reception Day" (R-Day) for the incoming Class of 2011. They're in the lower right corner of the picture, marching either to or from their swearing-in ceremony.

Forgive my ignorance, but where do they play football and basketball? Other than that a very impressive campus.

In the top right corner of the picture you can see a road continuing up the hill beyond the cruciform Cadet Chapel. That road leads, among other places, to Michie Stadium and a sports complex. You can see it on Google Earth at 41 degrees, 23' 15.54" N, 73 degrees, 57' 51.2" W.
