Then one day, all the Southerners got together and decided to trade parties. All the racist Democrats suddenly became Republicans, and all the saintly Republicans became today's Democrats. I've actually had people tell me about this switch. Amazes me. Why didn't Kleagle--I mean, Senator--Byrd, change parties?
Democrats will scream "David Duke!" "David Duke!" Yes, what exactly is the story behind David Duke? What exactly is his position in the Republican Party? Was he, or was he not, booted from said party? Could most people identify a picture of him? Unlike Grand Wizard--I mean, Senator--Byrd, Duke is a nobody.
Then there's this guy, whom we learn about via Instapundit (see blogroll at left).

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A Democratic candidate for Alabama attorney general denies the Holocaust occurred and said Friday he will speak this weekend in New Jersey to a "pro-white" organization that is widely viewed as being racist.
Larry Darby concedes his views are radical, but he said they should help him win wide support among Alabama voters as he tries to "reawaken white racial awareness" with his campaign against Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson.

did Glenn have anything to say about this guy?
whoops, I meant this guy....http://mediamatters.org/items/200605120006
Haven't seen anything on his site about Gibson's statement.
But the EdWonks will tell you about another guy, political party unknown:

You mean the David Duke that supports the Cindy Sheehan/Code Pink/ANSWER/anti-war crowd, that David Duke?
And how, exactly, would Mel Gibson's statement of fact be relevant to this?
Democrats like this guy, appeal to people who think similar stupid things. That's the Way of the World...there will always be stupid statements made by stupid people. It doesn't matter how many years of teaching experience one has, we just can't beat the odds on this.
Take Harry Reid's statement last week, during the debate to have English as the National Language, at which time he called the idea a racist proposal. Now what are you going to do with that...anger, outrage, disgust, etc. are all a waste of energy.
Let's just chalk it up to stupidity...plain and simple. Harry Reid is stupid. Okay?
And the guy running for the Attorney General of Alabama is stupid, too. One can be educated and stupid, you know.
There are still people who don't believe we landed on the moon.
They believe it's all a lie, never happened, and a big hoax filmed in the desert.
I am quite certain that these people are also liberals, and Democrats.
Aren't you glad we aren't????
