Education, politics, and anything else that catches my attention.
This worries me greatly. My grandson's mother decided to move from his fairly safe and diverse suburban district to one where sports override academics and in looking at the Great Schools site for the school he will attend, has a serious race and bullying problem. (He did this b/c her husband's mother wanted them to live right around the corner so she can see her grandson, my grandson's half brother-never mind that it moves him an hour away from his Dad-who is sharing custody....) My skinny white goofy grandson, who prefers programming to football and riding BMX bikes and doing martial arts for fun rather than being cool will be thrown into a fifth grade class in the middle of the school year. He's a GT kid and will always be one of the youngest in his class with a late July birthdate. This new district is filled with SJW's who are looking for kids and families to attack. I'm worried that he will enter with a stigma and end up the butt of all jokes for the rest of the year. Why would any parent choose to do this?
