The World In 100 Years
I haven't confirmed that this really was in the Ladies Home Journal in 1900, but I find it plausible and entertaining.

It's interesting to see the fixation in that list on fruits and vegetables -- "strawberries as big as apples" and so forth. I guess in 1900 the US was still overwhelmingly agrarian, and radical changes to farming would be the most interesting and advanced tech available.
Also, buying stuff and having it delivered via pneumatic tubes would be way cool.

The internet and FEDEX/UPS have rendered the pneumatic tubes unnecessary!
