The fine, upstanding citizens that head major public employee unions are now threatening the California Chamber of Commerce because of its support of Prop 75, the "Paycheck Protection Initiative" that lost 53-47 last month. Apparently, the peace-loving union bosses believe that extorted money is their birthright. If they truly thought their political ideals were so wonderful that all union members would support them, they'd have nothing to fear from having to get members' permission to use dues money for political purposes. Even better, they'd stop spending dues money on political purposes at all (except those directly related to pay and working conditions) and would set up a fund into which union members could voluntarily contribute.
Insane idea, I know.
