Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today.Click here to read about the hyperbolic predictions that haven't come to pass. My favorites are the ones from the 80s and 90s, predicting catastrophes that are already supposed to have happened by now but of course haven't. 1988 and 89 were good years for ecological hysteria.
None of the apocalyptic predictions with due dates as of today have come true.
What follows is a collection of notably wild predictions from notable people in government and science.
More than merely spotlighting the failed predictions, this collection shows that the makers of failed apocalyptic predictions often are individuals holding respected positions in government and science.
While such predictions have been and continue to be enthusiastically reported by a media eager for sensational headlines, the failures are typically not revisited.
Update, 9/22/2019: Here's some video from ABC News from 2009, predicting disaster in 2015. Don't they know you're supposed to predict 100 years in the future so no one alive can prove you wrong?

As much as the Left likes to assume the mantle of Party of Science, they don't like the debate that is the Scientific Method. Theories must be proven using peer review. The Left buries those outcomes and shouts down anyone who holds a different view than they do.
