...and the second weekend in a row where I don't feel so great. For the last two weeks I was able to get through the school week through Thursday but had to drag myself through Friday, whereupon I collapsed after work.
My district takes "Presidents Week" off, giving us an ideal time to hit the ski slopes without weekend crowds. Right now, though, I'm sipping tea and waiting for the DayQuil to kick in so I don't feel so crappy. I hope to feel better by Monday, when the weather is forecast to be "mostly cloudy" up on the slopes.
Nuh guh cold.

I feel your pain. In January I was ready to take my new motorcycle out on the highway…naturally it was raining like crazy, temperatures in the 30s and that flu vaccine I took worked…I got the flu for the second time this season. I actually had to call in sick and I just stayed at home on the couch sipping tea and taking drugs. What a waste of a perfectly good sick day!
Kids and teachers are getting some "bug" that is like a super-cold- last 3-4 weeks with drainage, sore throat, bronchitis, fatigue. It has been crazy trying to get kids caught up on missing work. I've been trying to teach with a croaky voice and no energy. Missed three days in two weeks and that is more than I missed all of last year.
I think that must be the same cold I've had since mid January (following on the heels of the Christmas cold and the Thanksgiving fun bug!). I am getting really tired of coughing all the time. I guess it's the price to pay for years of not catching anything.
I feel worse now than when I wrote the original post.
TMI ALERT:
If someone could figure out a way to turn snot into electricity, I could keep a small town's lights on for days.
Is it green snot? That's the important part, not whether it's actually useful.
It's been practically "Ski Week" here. When you have more than a foot of wet snow in Dallas, it is a rare week indeed. And then since we had Presidents' Day off, we ended up with a five day vacation. I like that.
Darren, there is some "bug" that has been going around since Christmas. Headaches, head congestion, dry cough, general lethargy. My head has been stuffed up since New Years and I honestly don't remember what "smell" is. I think the rapid changes in temperatures combined with some really turbulent air kicking up dust from God Knows Where is getting to all of us. Green tea and honey (local if you can find it), vitamin D and rest are all that really helps. You have my sympathy. I hate being sick during vacation.
