Monday Trivia

The answer to yesterday's question is:
Portugal.

Today's question is:
In the movie The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy wore ruby-colored slippers; however, in the original book, the slippers were a different color. What color were they?

Silver. They changed it to red in the film to make it more visually outstanding.

Silver. Changed to red in the movie to highlight the advent of technicolor. And I still believe the silver color to be due to it's metaphorical part in an allegory designed to promote the free coinage of silver.

I was going to say that, and then I thought I must be wrong. I guess it is good to go with a hunch after all.

Oo... I know this one!

Silver!

And I have a return challenge... How many Oz stories in the series are there?

(Hopefully, it's not too late to post my answer - I didn't get a chance to read your blog yesterday, for much sadness.)

Silver. They were changed to ruby for the movie because it showed off the technicolor better!

Aren't there like 14 Oz books? I know there are a lot of them.
