It sounds naive, but I like to think that everyone considers themselves the hero in their own story. Most people need a rationale to be really rotten. That curriculum directer sent out an email to staff instructing them to keep two sets of lesson plans. One that goes online and is visible to students, and one that is actually used with students in class. What story did she tell herself to excuse such obviously corrupt behavior?
