The Sacramento City Teachers Association spent three weeks collecting votes, and said turnout was 70 percent. According to the union, 92 percent of its 2,500 members voted to approve the strike. They're going to strike when the there's a threat of a state takeover, which could throw their contract out the window--and perhaps, some of their security along with it? Maybe I'm missing something, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.
The move adds to the challenges faced by the district, which is under the threat of state takeover as it wrestles with a $35 million budget gap.
Education, politics, and anything else that catches my attention.
