More California Lunacy

You really can't make up something this bizarre:
Days after a landmark law went into effect requiring California schools to teach about gay historical figures, a new piece of proposed legislation is likely to spark even more controversy.

Sponsored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), AB 266 would require schools to allow students to play on sports teams according to their “gender identity” and not their biological sex...

However, revised language in the proposed bill would mandate that students “shall be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs, activities, and facilities, including athletic teams and competitions, consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records”.

Under the proposal, a boy who claims a female “gender identity”, for example, would have the right to try out for a girls sports team.

In addition, the bill would also require opposite-sex access to “sex-segregated facilities” that could possible include locker rooms.
Anyone foresee any interesting "difficulties" with such a stupid law?

Typical boy horny-teen reaction: Hey, I gender identify as a girl, so let me into that locker room! Wanna see naked girls! Yeah!

Anyone who doesn't think that will happen is really, really stupid.

Wow, an anonymous commenter on an obscure blog can clearly see what California's legislators obviously cannot. Is it any wonder that California is in the shape it's in, given the people who govern it?

I have nothing against gays, but there are two problems with this. This kinda pushes them to identify themselves and boys/girls could lie to get into the girls/boys team.

Hmm--so an other-gendered kid wants to LABEL him/herself in high school? That'll end well.
Will this extend to cheerleading squads, too? Or swimming teams? What's the use of having boys/girls separate teams at all, if I can play for any team I "feel" like playing for?

I think that places like San Francisco have such a cultural identity associated with supporting the gay community that they are far removed from what happens in real life, especially in schools.

Does Tom Ammiano have a brain? What happens when some coach gets a group of guys to declare "gender identity issues" and then play as a girls basketball or softball team. Great for the girls....they'll be pushed off the team. What then....we'll need a straight male team, a gay male team, a lesbian team, a straight female team, a "I have boy parts but my parents forced me to pee while sitting team" etc. Unfortunately California is sooooo messed up, this has a good shot of passing.
