But, But, But, Wal*mart Is Eee-vihl!

Mordor was Tolkein's version of Bentonville, Arkansas, or something like that:
Sacramento Schools have received $11.5 million from The Walmart Foundation for three-year summer learning program that started Jun. 6.

The foundation provided the funds to the National Summer Learning Association, which then distributed them to local learning programs in 10 cities nationwide. The donation is part of a national effort to improve education for between school years.

Just saying. :-)

Wal Mart, 1 of the corporations involved in the Security and Prosperity Partnership, you know the wiping out of borders merging economies, military, cultural decay of our society...I am sure you are aware that Bush jr. signed this treasonous agenda into being and the fraud Obama continues it. I am also sure that you are aware of the governments direct intent on dumbing down our youth...Perhaps you should read the government documents of this Soviet style school system of indoctrination we now see kids graduating from. They no nothing, have a false understanding of history, and are brainwashed for the internationalist world government, politically correct bullshit.

Learn something if you are indeed a teacher....government documents on the indoctrination of our kids in the Public education system

From the very first report issued by John D. Rockefeller’s General Education Board — this is their first mission statement:

“In our dreams, people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present education conventions of intellectual and character education fade from their minds and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into men of learning or philosophers, or men of science. We have not to raise up from them authors, educators, poets or men of letters, great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, (he’s really covering the whole gamut of employment isn’t he?) statesmen, politicians, creatures of whom we have ample supply (whoever the pronoun we is meant to stand for there). The task is simple. We will organize children and teach them in an perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way”.

It's always nice to encounter the conspiracy nuts. Yes, there may be one, but you don't come across as very reasonable-sounding here.

My favorite Wal Mart story, which I apoligize for not sourcing was that people expected Wal Mart to be against raising the minimum wage. They were actually in favor of it becasue none of their employees were being paid minimum wage but many of their customers are. May be apocryphal but it makes the point that providing basic things inexpensively is a help to people of modest means.

Another way of looking at this is that, because Wal-Mart will stop at nothing to prevent unionization, they are rewarded with windfall profits. From this, a percentage can be taken to donate to the community (tax deductible, so it costs them less than the full amount), while their employees continue to work for a lower than market wage with negligble benefits. And, yes, I will continue to harp on this until you can explain to me the principles of monopsony. With graphs. :)

Max, your elected officials allow this. So until you can show that Wal*mart is breaking the law, and until you can show--with graphs!--how having a union is a benefit to Wal*mart, then STFU! :-)

Unions only benefit union leadership. If you will note that rather than expanding union membership by having more jobs, unions refused to allow a reduction in the wages thereby causing a loss of jobs. Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face comes to mind.

Wal-Mart isn't necessarily breaking the law, but they are making sure unions don't form. Having unions is NOT to their benefit; that's why they stifle them. And, I can show you, with graphs, both how the absence of a union allows Wal Mart to pay a below market wage, to THEIR benefit and how the presence of a union results in na at least closer to market wage. I can even show you why an increase in minimum wage might benefit them. Name the time and the place.

Perhaps when you put down that wacky tobaccy. Seems to me that a "market wage" is a wage the market would pay without the adverse influences of excessive government and/or union intervention.
