May I submit my current school, the Redbugs. Also my alma mater (and husband's employer) Boll Weevils. Also there are my favorites, the Hutto Hippos, the Fighting Artichokes and the Yellow Banana Slugs.
Port Aransas TX used to be Home of the Fighting Sandcrabs, but sadly they scuttled that name for something more boring. The New Braunfels Unicorns colors are are silver and purple which must mean their football team is either really tough or really pretty. Our school was nearly called the Hippos rather than the Hawks. Can you imagine cute cheerleaders with "Hippos" emblazoned across their chests?
The Monroe, WI Cheesemakers have always been one of my favorites. It's about an hour away from where I live, and I was always rather annoyed that they got such a memorable mascot, while my school was yet anoter set of spartans.

We were the Horace Greeley High School Quakers!
Doesn't that strike terror into your heart? The Quakers sure sound like a big-bad team, don't they? :P
OK, Poka Dots is way cuter. Way cuter.

Ellen, I'm sure you'd find some justice in that! :-)
No, I am not that mean. It is a funny visual though.
Don Surber is from Poca. And how about the Dubois Jeeps, as in Eugene the Jeep (Popeye)?
