Two Years Ago Today...
...I started this blog. It's my blogiversary. Go here to see my first post.
It didn't take me long to get fired up--my second post was a letter to the NEA, and my third was a letter to the CTA.

Happy blogoversary, Darren. I've got you in my RSS reader and check the blog out every day. Always an insightful and entertaining read. Keep up the good work.
Happy Blogaversary....is that how it's spelled? I do read your blog almost every day, as shown by my frequent flyer miles. I find your ability to remain somewhat lucid in the face of impending doom, in the form of the California School System, intriguing and somewhat a forerunner of what we will be contending with in the years to come. We are all in the same boat, but I think it's sinking....
I've been told I need to do less linking and more original writing, but the muse hasn't struck me lately. So I keep linking to things I find interesting, hoping my readers will also find them interesting, and eventually I'll be moved to write something more substantial.
Linking vs. original writing -- I don't know that there's such a dichotomy. I think some of your best articles have been ones where you've linked and then provided original commentary, as only a teacher "in the trenches" can give. Wes Fryer talks a lot on his blog about blogging as "remixing" and I think that's an area where you really shine.
I think my problem is the opposite. I write all kinds of things, but seldom link. And nobody reads my stuff very often anyhow. Ah well...artists are never loved within their lifespan.

Thanks, Robert! I do enjoy providing commentary.
