I was going to write a paper about the issue of illegal immigrants flooding our classrooms--the language barrier and the sheer NUMBER of kids. I have access to Ebsco. Do you think I could find ANYTHING with sympathy for the teachers or how to cope (I'm not a teacher, BTW, so not looking for sympathy for myself)? Nothing. All I could find was how our schools and teachers are failing immigrants and ELLS, and in any number of awful ways. Needless to say, that's not the direction my paper went, because I could find nothing in support of teachers in this position. Bah. Shut the dang borders for a while. Oh, I forgot: we're in the midst of a 'fundamental transformation'. >:(
