Union Mentality

One of the aspects of teacher unionism I find particularly abhorrent is the behavior and mindset it instills; we claim to be "professionals", yet when something related to unionism comes up we go straight to blue collar speech and thuggery. Is this the kind of teacher you want for your children?
"We're not just here to lobby. We're here to raise some hell," Betty Olson-Jones, president of the Oakland Education Association, said as the arrests began.
Way to stay classy.

And then there's the hypocrisy and idiocy:
"It's not right that the rich and big businesses don't pay their fair share of taxes," (CTA President) Sanchez said.

As Mike Antonucci of EIA often points out, the CTA doesn't pay any taxes.

The rich dont pay their fair share of taxes? If I read correctly, in 2010 the richest 1% paid more in taxes than the poorest 95% combined... Where do people back up saying the rich dont pay enough taxes?

The CTA's fair share is "none". Which they pay.

The fair share for the rich is "more." Which they are currently not paying.

No contradiction :-)
