I don't often say nice things about CSU Sacramento so I'm pleased to have the opportunity to do so now. Allow me to quote from the Summer 2008 issue of Sac State Magazine:
"Through the recently established Troops to College initiative, Sac State officials are working to ensure that military service people, veterans and their families have the opportunity to go to college. The California State University system-led effort is designed to streamline access to the GI Bill and other tuition programs as well as provide guidance with benefit requirements and transferring military credits to college credits."
The page-long article goes on to state that:
*military enrollment at Sac State is up 20% over last year
*the (Sac State) University Foundation is working on a fundraising initiative, as the system-wide initiative had no dollars attached to it
*veterans are being given priority when registering for classes
I've already emailed to inquire how to donate to this worthy cause. When I receive that information from the university or from the University Foundation, I'll post it here. Details about veterans' services available at Sac State can be found here.
Update, 7/10/08: Donation information can be found here.
