The answer to yesterday's question is:
Back to silents. (Although Allen's comment brings up something I hadn't heard before, but I don't currently have time to look it up. He could be right!)
Today's question is:
A US football field is 100 yards long (not including the end zones, of course). How wide is it?

I believe it is 53 yards
US football fields are 160 feet wide. I'll leave it for your students to calculate that dimension in yards!
It's a good thing you mentioned US football, since Canadian football fields are longer and wider.

I am going with 40 yards although I am not sure.
As to Clark Gable, I looked it up yesterday and found a picture of his actual gravesite. It has his name with dates of birth and death underneath. Nothing else. "Back to Silents" was what he said he wanted. His seventh wife decided not to honor that for whatever reason.
Is it 60 yards wide?
