Word on the street is that Yale has buckled under the pressure of public knowledge that the former Taliban Ambassador-at-large, Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi, is studying in New Haven--and he won't be soon enough. Granted, he was not in a degree-granting program, but the mere fact that he was studying at Yale instead of at Guantanamo is shocking. Yale came under the spotlight last year when news of Hashemi's presence hit the blogosphere; what was it someone once said about sunlight being the best disinfectant?
Apparently the NY Times has finally posted their story about the subject.
Update, 7/8/06: Apparently I misspoke. He can stay and study if he wishes, but he cannot get a Yale degree.
