Voter Fraud Is Not A Myth

James O'Keefe shows how easy it is to commit voter fraud in Colorado, with the active help of liberal activists:
Many liberals are adamant there is no threat of voter fraud that justifies efforts to improve the integrity of elections. “There is no real concrete evidence of voter fraud,” tweeted Donna Brazile, former acting chair of the Democratic National Committee, this week. “It’s a big ass lie.”

James O’Keefe, the guerilla filmmaker who brought down the ACORN voter-registration fraudsters in 2010 and forced the resignation of NPR executives, politely disagrees. Today, he is releasing some new undercover footage that raises disturbing questions about ballot integrity in Colorado, the site of fiercely contested races for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, and the governorship. When he raised the issue of filling out some of the unused ballots that are mailed to every household in the state this month, he was told by Meredith Hicks, the director of Work for Progress, a liberal group funded by Democratic Super PACS.: “That is not even like lying or something, if someone throws out a ballot, like if you want to fill it out you should do it.” She then brazenly offered O’Keefe, disguised as a middle-aged college instructor, a job with her group.

The video of O’Keefe’s encounters with other operatives is equally disturbing.  He has a conversation with Greenpeace employee Christina Topping, and suggests he might have access to unused ballots from people who have recently moved out of college fraternity houses. “I mean it is putting the votes to good use,” she responds. “So really, truly, like yeah, that is awesome.”
Did you catch that? You don't have to believe me, but you can't deny the video.

What does it say about your beliefs, and your contempt for your fellow citizens, if you don't think you and your ideas can win legitimately so you actually cheat (*cough*, IRS, *cough*) in order to win elections?

Liberals are often despicable.  They can be nice enough individuals, but when it comes to their actions related to their politics, they're often despicable.

Update:  Probability says that this wouldn't happen absent outside forces:
For whatever reason, when statewide races are decided by less than 1 point, Democrats win almost three-quarters of the time. When the margin opens to 1-2 points, that advantage dissipates, and the Democrats win only half the races.
Works that way with recounts, too. They always seem to find a box of ballots in the trunk of a car somewhere....

As I always say ... it doesn't matter whether or not voter fraud doesn't exist. If it doesn't cool; if it does, voter ID is at least a stumbling block. And ... given that you can vote by mail and NOT show an ID anyway? Grow up, people.

Part of the reason is that the Democrats have taken the lawfare side of elections far more seriously than the Republicans have. In close elections, they have lawyers at the ready to file lawsuits and to direct the recounts. Republicans have been on the sidelines, are several cycles behind, and are far less aggressive. Democrats have a by-any-means-necessary attitude which really doesn't care if it crosses the line into cheating; while Republicans, by their very nature, are more respectful of the law and procedures in place.

The problem is that Republicans are actively involved in campaigns (not involving voter id) that actively promote suppressing votes. That does not help.

And the easy solution is a free National ID card for everyone. Present that at a polling place and problem solved. Of course, some Republicans balk at a national card.

I am not one of them.

Just talking to our two neighborhood Wendy Davis reps, it is clear that this is not just a Colorado or even just a border states problem. We have a systemic problem where people who are not here legally are accessing every aspect of our system including electing politicians that will create laws favoring their causes. Even Hillary Clinton was aware of this as far back as 2007. When Gigi Gaston made the documentary "We Will Not Be Silenced" she interviewed Democrat precinct insiders-the folks who pick up voters, goad old people into voting and who make sure to get out the vote. When you hear a selected delegates who are supposed to be bound to a candidate discuss being threatened with being removed from the delegate list, when you hear of candidates being pushed forward "by acclaim" rather than by ballot as in the DNC bylaws which happened with Obama in 2008 in Texas-there is something very dirty and underhanded going on. I live in a pretty conservative area of Denton County. But suddenly vacant rental properties have Hispanic families who come equipped with Wendy Davis campaign signs.....it just seems way too pat a method to swing a district.

Jeff, where? Identify them.

Darren, "in my fevered imagination" isn't a physical location so Jeff won't be able to tell your where or who.

But the response of the left to raising the bar to vote fraud is a useful window on the mind of lefties.

To any reasonable person the lack of the requirement to present identification to vote isn't a problem as long as it isn't a problem, i.e. there's not much vote fraud. Just like leaving your doors unlocked isn't a problem until you come home one day and fight aunt Mable's broach and your new 55" Sony missing.

Where there's something of value there are always people happy to take it. Elections have value so there are people willing to steal them. That's such an obviously true formulation that the only avenue open to lefties is to claim that no one's doing any stealing of elections so there's no need to lock the door.

I know I've pimped this book out before … but if you haven't read it? It's a quick, entertaining read that will cause you to lose all hope in the voting process. Both sides of the aisle. http://www.amazon.com/Steal-This-Vote-Elections-Democracy/dp/1560256761
