How about both,

The Hawker Hurrucane was the most numerous and arguably more importtant, but like the Marines, the Supermarine Spitfire got all the press.

I had to think about this for a while. I'm pretty sure the Spitfire was one of them, and I think the Hurricane was the other main aircraft used by the British in the Battle of Britain. The Spitfire was more maneuverable and faster than the Hurricane, but the Hurricane was capable of withstanding more damage.
