The answer to today's question is K2, and I remember that from the funny papers years ago--Joe Palooka I think it was. Anyhow, shortly after Edmund Hillary climbed Everest the comic strip had its hero climb K2. Then the hero supposedly discovered that K2 was actually a few feet higher than Mt. Everest. Needless to say, K2 is not higher than Everest, but then it was only a comic strip and written for entertainment.

As for yesterday's question, I read that and started trying to remember. Finally I went to bed hoping the answer would come in my sleep. Needless to say, it didn't. Then off and on today the question kept interrupting my thoughts and finally it came to me. The answer was Grover Cleveland. So I quickly opened my browser and dang, you had already posted the answer. Now I know I could have looked it up, but that would have been cheating. Ah well, the history of my life. A day late and a dollar short.

I believe it is K-9. Don't remember why it doesn't have a given name but you said we couldn't Google for answers.
