I should have gone with my first reaction on the question about Machu Picchu because Inca was correct, but I wasn't confident enough.

Khartoum, Sudan. And the only reason that city exists is because the White and Blue Niles merge there. Otherwise, it's just another spot in the eastern Sahara desert.
