US Secretary of Education to Play On 'Jeopardy'

"Something that sounds fun to do, until you realize that if you do poorly, you'll take way more abuse than is merited."

"What is, having the US Secretary of Education appear on Jeopardy?"

Update, 11/22/06: Apparently she got smoked like a cheap cigar--by Lenny from Laverne and Shirley. Let the jokes begin. I'm not strong enough to watch the video.

She got smoked because Michael McKean (aka Lenny) was quick on the buzzer and is a pretty intelligent guy (you have to be to work on Christopher Guest movies). The questions, for the most part, were ridiculously easy, so whoever rang in first was likely to have a correct answer. When she did get a chance, Spellings kept forgetting to pose her answers in the form of a question (after the third time, it did make her look a little stupid). Also, I noticed she her wrong answers were mostly associated with popular culture. She ended up in second place, overall.

Yeah, McKean is actually quite smart, from what I hear.

Nonetheless, how many of us are sitting here imagining Lenny and Squiggy snorting as she looks on haplessly?

Maybe she could have beat Horschack fromWelcome Back, Kotter....
