Don't you have to get a Masters degree to keep on teaching in high school? You do in Indiana, though I really don't remember how many years they give you to get it.
Thankfully, no. We have other bogus requirements, though.
After this last week, I am seriously considering getting a master's in art history. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed the give and take of analysis and lecture. I could seriously get into teaching at a junior college level. It may be worth it. Luckily, I have lifetime certification, so I don't have to jump through the hoops of fire that the newer teachers do. Thank God.
