The "Paper Budget"

From the sounds of things, our school has clear-cut several forests to make all the paper we're using this year.  In fact, given the portion of the budget we've allocated to paper, we're on track to use up our entire allotment in April.

School doesn't get out till early June.  I'm sure you can see the problem.

To deal with the issue, our principal sent out the following message:
I have not had to manage paper use before, but we will need to do so for the remainder of the year. Below are the procedures you should follow when you need paper:



1. Figure out the number of copies you will need to make.

2. Email (the controller) or stop in her office to let her know how much you need and she can have it ready for you. ((The controller) will not be loading the machine for you so you can stay in your room to send copies)

3. Go to (the controller's) office to get your paper and make your copies.

That's the world in which I operate. *sigh*

    I bet it's not the actual teachers who are making hundreds of copies of things.

    Just hope that the machine doesn't jam and/or decide to eat paper

    We really do this to ourselves as teachers. I can't count the number of times I see giant stacks of "whoops" copies in the garbage (the recycle bin right next to it must be too inconvenient) People using printers instead of district printing for really big jobs, ect....These types of things I have seen in education are what moved me over to reading a blog like this in the first place.
