During the 2012 election, President Obama essentially gave central Europe to the Russians in true Munich 1938 style. Peace in our time-ski.Russian media have been poking fun at the US secretary of state over a translation error on a gift she presented to her Russian counterpart.Hillary Clinton gave Sergei Lavrov a mock "reset" button, symbolising US hopes to mend frayed ties with Moscow.
But he said the word the Americans chose, "peregruzka", meant "overloaded" or "overcharged", rather than "reset".
Daily newspaper Kommersant declared on its front page: "Sergei Lavrov and Hillary Clinton push the wrong button."
Relations between Washington and Moscow have cooled in recent years over Russia's role in the war in Georgia, US support for the entry of Georgia and Ukraine to Nato, and the planned US missile shield based in central Europe.
During that same election, Obama's trademark arrogant attitude was on display again, on the side of the Russians:
I'm tired of hearing the Democrats talk about Russia. They need to shut up and go drink their Slurpees while the adults clean up their messes and pull their car out of the ditch.
Hahahahahahahahaha. Brilliant timing!
ReplyDeleteHave you yet to weary about Junior talking about Russia yet?
I can only hope this slow burn lasts long enough to scorch every sycophant in the GOP who gives the Joker in Chief any benefit of doubt. My popcorn is popped, and I'm watching with interest. History's assessment of TrumpNation will be cruel, to be sure. I worry it won't be cruel enough.
I agree with the CNN producer who said on hidden camera that the whole Trump/Russia thing is a "nothing burger". The only smoking gun the Dems have is the one that shot a Republican congressman a couple weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that popcorn; in the end, it's all you'll enjoy about this situation.
Better eat fast, your conspiracy theory is falling apart in less than the time it takes for me to read a couple of news articles:

Democrats intentionally used disinformation from Russia to attack Trump, campaign aides

On second thought, go pop another bag. The more you're focused on this kind of triviality, the less you'll worry about the important things being done.
You forget how Watergate unfolded. Drip, drip, drip. TrumpRussia is working faster. Mueller isn't talking but he is hiring.
ReplyDeleteMy worry is that we get to the complete unraveling too quickly. It needs to stretch out and block Trump from moving his agenda. If Trump were out and Pence were in, legislation might start flowing. That would be bad.
Trump's base are being Good Germans. Allegiance to an authoritarian is an old story. Those of us not wearing foil hats and blindfolds will work to save the republic in 2018. Will the dam have burst by then? Time will tell.
The popcorn was a delicious accompaniment to El Rusho's spittle shower tirade / meltdown on Tuesday.
The National Review and Charles Krauthammer have seen enough Hannity does his best to rehab, but Scarborough's dumped the entire GOP.
It's cute that you don't think you're part of the tinfoil crowd. Now be good and go with the nice man in the white jacket.
