Faux Pas

I wrote earlier that today my long-term substitute teacher came over and we discussed logistics, lesson plans, etc. At one pointed we retreated to my library to look some things up on Zangle, the online system our district uses for grades, attendance, discipline, and all other records.

I fired up the monitor and this article from New York Magazine, about how lately it's fashionable to think that a college degree isn't all it's cracked up to be or is more expensive than it's worth, was what filled my screen. Problem is, the entire center of that opening screen is a picture of several very attractive college students, naked except for mortarboard hats which cover their privates.

Let me repeat. We go into my library, fire up my computer, and filling a large section of the middle of my screen is a picture of several mostly naked, very attractive college-aged bodies.

Heck, I'm not even going to comment on that article anymore. I'm just going to laugh at the uncomfortable moment it caused before she realized I wasn't looking at porn.

  1. "...she realized"

Nice holdout until the end. I just assumed since you're a guy your LT was one also. How very

Embarrassing either way but somehow less so when it's just between "guys"

  2. Yes, I guess it adds to the story to know that she's young and attractive, too!

  3. I'm planning to link to that story from Community College Spotlight. (I'm going on vacation and trying to get lots of timeless posts ready to go before I leave.) I was going to use the graphic to spice up Spotlight, which is normally rather staid. But perhaps it's too spicy.
