During the Falklands War the British Submarine,H.M.S. Conqueror sank the Argentine warship, General Belgrano. Formerly named the USS Phoenix, the Belgrano was built prior to WWII in 1935-38.
I would have to Google the actual name, but I believe that would be the Argentinian cruiser torpedoed during the Falklands War by a British nuclear-powered sub.
Wait, light bulb went off, the General Belgrano (sp?)
Didn't Argentina buy that ship from the Brits in the first place?
