The Philippines
The Philippines.
Technically? The United States of America, as the Philippines were an American colony during WWII, only gaining their independence in 1946.Or, one could say it occurred in Japan, since the Philippines were in the physical possession of the Japanese Empire. But, I suppose that the answer being looked for is the Philippines, since that is what we are told in the history books
I guess it depends on how the Philippines were defined at the time. We'd seized the Philippines from Spain so in one sense the Bataan Death March took place on American territory but not *in* America. I'll take Door Number 2 for the Philippines.
The Bataan Death March took place in the Philippines.
Well, "Bataan" is a clue, doncha think?
