Can Britain Be Saved?

This article from The Australian paints an ominous picture: assigning prison terms to the telling of politically incorrect jokes; arrest and official harassment of people who make politically incorrect statements, including children in a playground fight; police forcing a bishop to do more to celebrate diversity; the firing of a nurse for offering to pray for a patient, even when the patient wasn't even offended.

For a culture to survive, there must be some commonality--language, food, and some core set of beliefs. These beliefs may be somewhat fungible but they must exist. Because let's face it, beliefs are a culture.

I fear that the very culture that civilized the planet and gave birth to America may be dying, and I have concerns that America is starting down the same road.

Language? Our Parliaments have three or four official languages. (I can't remember if the Northern Ireland Assembly has Irish as one of its languages)

Food? Well, yeah, curry is pretty universally loved.

Beliefs? We don't talk about such things in public!

    What is your point?

The languages have been part of the UK for centuries, the food has always changed and belief has been a private matter for decades...

  4. There you go on religion again. The beliefs *I* was talking about, beliefs that used to be prevalent and valued at least in the United States, were beliefs in things like a work ethic, in individual freedoms, in our constitutional form of government. Things like the value of a family, a standard of dress, respect for the law. These used to be almost universal here, but do not seem to be now--and clearly are not in the land of my ancestors.

I think I get your point. You want rid of the Jews. After all, they dress differently, eat different food, have different beliefs and they speak a different language!

  6. You're sick.

I give you every opportunity to be decent, but you consistently play the troll. You are no longer welcome here. Seriously.
