Acting Presidential

This is what class looks like. This is what acting presidential looks like.

CALGARY, Alberta – Former President George W. Bush said he won't criticize President Barack Obama because Obama "deserves my silence," and said he plans to write a book about the 12 toughest decisions he made in office. Bush declined to critique the Obama administration Tuesday in his first speech since leaving office.

Some people have and display dignity, some don't. I've already pointed out how the current president could use some pointers in this arena--and that was on his first full day in office! He's taken plenty more pot shots since then.

  1. I am similarly upset with Michelle Obama's dismissive attitude toward the issues Laura Bush supported and worked for during her tenure as First Lady. I don't know if Michelle Obama is familiar with what is entailed in getting a degree in library science, but these days it can be the equivalent of an IT position. At any rate, the NYT evidently did this story on MO's activities and treated it like she was the first to ever do ANYTHING while First Lady. Laura Bush was publicly appreciative and acknowledged and continued some of the programs begun by Hillary Clinton. And Mrs. Bush and her daughters were very active in bringing to the forefront the issues of women in Darfur and the Middle East. Why can't anyone in the media give credit where credit is due? Why must they continue to tear down people and deny them credit in order to push this administration to the top? If you must tear others down to build someone up, then maybe they weren't so hot to begin with. This administration may have intelligence, they may have degrees, but they have no grace and they have no class.

"Class" has never been in the playbook of the Left. For Democrats in general and Leftists in particular, politics is a blood sport and class is just a bench warmer, never destined to enter the game.

One guy thinks it was an honor to have gotten to serve his country, while the other guy thinks the country is honored by his serving. Or something like that.
