"Oh snap" Is Right
When you're supposed to turn in your (take-home) final exam on CD, make sure you don't give your professor your CD containing child pornography by mistake.
There's nothing gross in the article--outside of the kid's taste in pornography. Actually, the article is kind of entertaining when it quotes the kid's email to his professor. Oh, snap!
I wonder if the student had a more vindictive goal in mind. If the images had been in an executable file, the images could have loaded onto the teacher's hard drive. The student could then anonymously turn him in. I hadn't ever thought about that before and I have students turn in digital portfolios all the time. I think this is a scary invasion of a teacher's safety.
Occam's Razor again. The simplest explanation is probably what happened here. The kid's not the brightest bulb in the chandelier--on a couple of levels.
Oh Snap...his life will never be the same!
ReplyDeleteDo I even need to click the article?

Isn't this a bit more than just stupidity? I mean, what's the kid doing with kiddie porn, anyway?
ReplyDeleteThat's part of the stupidity.
