Strip Club Raises Money for Las Vegas School District

I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but isn't there something a bit too "close to home" about this?

Via Newsalert (see blogroll at left), quoting from an AP story:

Scores (a strip club) raised the funds at an Aug. 23 back-to-school event called "Detention" that featured strippers dressed as teachers, schoolgirls and librarians.


Like I said, I'd still take the money, though.

    Why can't my school have fund raisers like this. I have to sell lousy candy bars instead.

    I find that fund raiser moderately horrifying. But perhaps no worse than the "McSchools" (or whatever they call it) nights here where teachers are **expected** to show up and work at the local McDonalds, and in return, 10% of the profits for that night go to local schools.
