We Can't Have Excellence, It Makes People Feel Bad

All the fake things labelled as "toxic" in our culture can't hold a candle to the actual toxicity surrounding the destruction of excellence:

Mayor Bill de Blasio is phasing out New York City’s Gifted and Talented program, he announced Friday — bowing to critics who complain that the coveted model is racist.

There are big problems in our culture, but white supremacy and structural racism are not among them.  Let's be honest about what the "problem" is with Gifted And Talented Education programs--too many Asians and not enough blacks.  We can't fix the problem if we don't identify it properly.
