This is just plain crazy:
Calderon, the Democratic majority leader in California's lower house, has introduced a bill to stop sit-down restaurants from offering customers straws with their beverages unless they specifically request one. Under Calderon's law, a waiter who serves a drink with an unrequested straw in it would face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
Liberals and their crazy laws. The lack of proportionality here tells you that this is dogma for them, not reason. Why not just burn the heretics at the stake?
Wouldn't this fall under cruel and unusual punishment?
ReplyDelete"So why are you in jail?"
"Because I gave someone a straw."
All because a 9 year old called around to some straw manufacturers in 2011 and made a guess as to how many straws we use.

Fortunately such stupidity has not reached Texas (yet...Austin is full of libtards), but I for one would use "officer discretion" and decline to issue a citation. Actually, a good hunk of my shift is reviewing the call board for BS request for service. And one cool thing I can do, as I would do in this matter, is tell dispatch to "Clear it under my #s..." We have real crime to worry about.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing they don't have much to do in Sacramento because everything is perfect in Cali, right?
