Real, Genuine Rape Is Obviously No Longer A Serious Issue

Talk about hyperbole:
After Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) alleged in her book that some of her male colleagues made sexist remarks about her weight, a Washington Post columnist and editorial said that weight is now "the new rape."
Wow, is calling someone a poo-poo head the new murder?
The mainstream press has also repeatedly mocked Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's weight, and there is no indication that future comments about Christie's weight will be held to the same standard as those about Gillibrand's.
You expect the left to be consistent?  I've said it too many times to count:  consistency is not the strong suit of the Left.

  1. Obviously hypocritical ... but it's not just politics. You can make fun of a man's weight or age ... but don't dare do it about a woman. I don't know why that's the social standard, but it appears to be. The irony is that Christie has also lost a lot of weight ...not that should even matter in the slightest.

  2. Wow. I'm fat. And it would hurt my feelings if someone made fun of me... but wow.

So is it just like the Holocaust when someone's feelings get hurt now? Is it "bullying" when someone doesn't approve of someone else's life choices?

All these sorts of liberal ideas belittle what rape survivors, Holocaust victims, and real physically bullied people actually went through. This sort of thing makes people less sensitive, not more, to the plights of others.

Maybe that's their real point? I can't figure these people out.
