Agreed - It really makes you feel like you've accomplished something.
However... I had a student in my Honors Chem (1st year, not AP) that was now attending a well-known university. His parents contacted me to say he had tested out of first semester Chemistry and said it was all thanks to me.
I gleefully related this to the district science supervisor who used it to "prove" I was too demanding in my classes.
So I guess the moral here is to enjoy these moments but if you work with idiots, keep your mouth shut.
That's a great way to finish a workday. :)
