Screwing Good And Decent People To Make a Political Point

It's fairly well established now that President Obama is trying to make the American people hurt so that they'll finally cry out against the sequestration cuts--a paltry amount that still allows the debt to increase.  That, ladies and gentlemen, is not a leader.

Go look where the US government spends its money.  Defense comes in 3rd--and while it's not an insignificant chunk of change, at least defense is mentioned in the Constitution, unlike HHS and Social Security.  Would it really be impossible to cut 5% across the board for the next decade?  If we did that perhaps we'd finally, eventually, have to make some real cuts, eliminate genuine waste, instead of cancelling White House tours or stopping tuition assistance to GI's:
According to goarmyed.com, U.S. soldiers will no longer be able to request help to pay tuition.

The suspension to the program was announced Thursday and is effective Friday.
I wonder how long after 2016 it will take for even ardent liberals to admit that this man is among the worst presidents--in fact, not even a very good person!--we've ever had.  Intentionally inflicting pain on his own citizens just to get what he wants politically?  Usually those kinds of actions are reserved for the Kims and Chavezes of the world.

  2. Perhaps a cut in the $400 billion F35 boondoggle? You know, the program where we've already spent $200 billion for a plane that is "still being tested" and computer code still being written as it's made. What happened to the creation of a prototype before we invest nearly a half-trillion dollars?

But just try to cut or even audit the military budget.

    Yeah, right.

Why doesn't Obama call his bud Harry Reid and propose a budget? The White House website lists all sorts of "cuts" (one is "we'll save money by paying less for medication....I'm sure the drug companies are REALLY in favor of that!) Anyway, why blame blame blame? Propose a budget, get the Senate to vote on it, and get it over to the House. Should have been done MONTHS ago.

  4. I've read that the estimates to fund the White House tours is $18,000 a year. In the meantime Obama flies to Florida, which requires a Secret Service advance team and security sweep, his wife goes to New York to schmooz with Jimmy Fallon and his daughter goes shopping. Each of those trips along cost more than the White House tours. I've also read that a park ranger released an email detailing how they were to outline specifically how sequester was making things more difficult for visitors in the national parks. This guy is a flimflam man who is only interested in making tons of money and shafting those he feels are his enemies.

"All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills." United States Constitution, Article 1, Section 7

Obama & his palls are unwilling to discuss a budget raising more revenue. Starting such a bill in the Senate would clearly be unconstitutional. Not that that has stopped many presidents in recent memory.

  6. The House has passed budgets and sent them to the Senate. Harry Reid refuses to allow them to be considered.
