As to today's, I believe it was something to the effect of: "What hath God wrought?"
As to my trivia question, he was called the Beaver because when the show started, he had lost his two front teeth and the adult teeth had just come in. Anyone seeing a young kid with only these two adult teeth will realize that they are huge compared to the others and give the impression of a beaver's two massive front teeth. Hence, "The Beaver"
BTW, his actual show name was Theodore. June did not use his nickname as much as the others. At most, she called him Beaver no more than about 50% of the time, preferring his given name of Theodore. Ward on the other hand usually used Beaver unless he was upset with the Beav's actions in which case Theodore was used. Beav knew he was in trouble when both June and Ward said "Theodore, please come in here."
