Taking Students To The Strip Club

Who is stupider here--the teacher who took the kids to the strip club, or the parents who gave permission?

HAMILTON, Ohio – A school spokesman said a southwest Ohio teacher has resigned after acknowledging she accompanied four female students to a male strip club. Butler Tech school district spokesman Bill Solazzo said the 47-year-old teacher resigned Thursday.

He said the teacher told Edgewood High School administrators that the students, all cheerleaders, asked her to take them to the bar in February.

The teacher told school officials in an e-mail that she got permission from the parents of the 17- and 18-year-olds to bring them to the club.

The teacher taught marketing at the school and previously served as a coach for the district's eighth-grade cheerleaders.

I'm wondering why cheerleaders would need to go to a strip club. Perhaps one of my regular readers from Texas might offer some elucidation :-)

  1. I don't know if they just get dropped on their heads more often or what, but it seems that many of those that are cheerleader sponsors are a taco shy of a combination plate. What I truly think has happened culturally is that girls have been untaught the previous generational lessons of female modesty. As such, many of the female student are very un-self-concious about exposing their bodies and using them for whatever advances their own personal and social agendas. It used to be we would watch out for innocent girls preyed on by teenaged boys, but some of the steamy notes I have picked up (they write notes when they can't text...) suggest behaviors that are pornographic in nature. And as much as I hate to say it, some of the girls who are "popular" are that because of their off campus behavior. Hey, watch an episode of One Tree Hill or any of those teen oriented shows and see the rampant and guiltless nature of sexual behavior exhibited. This brings to mind the question, does the media reflect such behaivor or cause such behavior?

  2. Have you seen the dance routines lately? The only difference is the skirt. As ill-advised as this may be, it's probably no different academically than taking an auto shop class to a garage.

  3. Sadly, that was the only reason I could come up with as well.
