"That wasn't me," President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One. It actually was partly him — and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years — who shaped the latest in a string of precipitously out-of-balance budgets.
And as a presidential candidate and president-elect, he backed the twilight Bush-era stimulus plan that made the deficit deeper, all before he took over and promoted spending plans that have made it much deeper still.
Remind me where that desk was, the one that used to have the sign on it that said "The buck stops here." Oh yeah, it was in the exact same office that President Obama now occupies.
"That wasn't me" must be the grown up version of "I didn't do it."
ReplyDeleteGripe and FNC-Tea-Party all you want. It won't bring Obama's approval ratings down.
ReplyDeleteAnd raise your hand if you think Arlen Specter will be the last defector fleeing from the failed GOP. I'm guessing you'll characterize this type of defection differently than those that occurred during the Reagan Administration.
His approval ratings are already coming down.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care less about Specter. I think he tarnished the Republican brand; out with the old and in with someone new.
I notice you don't address the President's failing, though, which was the subject of this post. Instead you pulled out the ole non sequitur. So typical of lefties who can't bear the thought that their Messiah is a fraud.
