Our hearts go out to the families of those who were killed or hurt in the helicopter training accident at Texas A&M yesterday. Read the words of a photographer who witnessed the crash, and think of the impact such an event might have on the ROTC cadets who watched it.
Sometimes, sadly, the military forces you to grow up quickly.
My son's girlfriend goes to A&M. The Corps used to be considered one of our nation's military schools and there have been many fine military leaders that have graduated from there. Luckily, school isn't in session or it could have been a much worse scenario. After the bonfire catastrophe, they didn't need another campus tragedy. I knew a kid who died in that accident as well. It's a dangerous world out there.
