Day Without A Gay

Here's the latest temper tantrum from those on the No On Prop 8 side: Day Without A Gay.

Some same-sex marriage supporters are urging people to "call in gay" Wednesday to show how much the country relies on gays and lesbians, but others question whether it's wise to encourage skipping work given the nation's economic distress.

And lest students take this call to arms too seriously:

He has specifically urged high school students not to walk out of their classes and assured college students they won't be disloyal to the cause if they go ahead and take their final exams.

Wouldn't want anyone to be "disloyal to the cause", of course. Because it's obvious that if you don't support this puerile little attention-seeking stunt, you must be a homophobe.

  1. Day Without A Gay to be followed by ...A Gay Without a Job

    Yup, that's the solution.

  3. What a dumb idea. It's just another attempt for the gay community to try an force recognition from a larger part of the community that really doesn't care whether or not they are gay. If we are all conducting ourselves like grown-ups at work, we aren't discussing our sex lives with our coworkers. And that would be harassment if we did, right? Yet it seems that most of the arguements I have heard by gays in the workplace center around their perceived inability to conduct their Out Gay Lives any way they want. We have several gay teachers at our school. They don't discuss their private lives except with close friends which is as it should be. Why do we have to drag everyone's private lives out? And why is it that gays seem the most prone to this type of behavior?

Our resident 'gay' teachers came to school today. Had they called in sick, they would have used up a sick day, and sub center would have sent a sub into their classrooms.
Other than that, it was just another day in the neighborhood.
    What a stupid protest!
The only people who suffered a day without a 'gay' are probably those in Hollywood, who had to reschedule their hair appointments, or wait until the next day to get their poodles groomed.
'Gays' simply do not impact my existence, and no matter what...marriage still remains legal ONLY between a man and a woman in Cali (including Hollywood and San Franciso). Guess what...the man can even be 'gay', i.e., a down low brother.
There are no restrictions on a 'gay' marrying a 'straight'...of the opposite gender.
    So...there you go!
This post is as silly as this 'gay' protest turned out to be.
