Accessorizing Sarah

Let me get this straight.

The people who have spent well over $600 million dollars to get one man elected are complaining about the people who may have spent up to $150 thousand dollars (and that number is disputed) to get a "woman of the people" dressed up for prime time?

The people who spent over $5 million for Invesco Field (home of the Greek temple) for Obama's nomination acceptance speech, to make him "look good", are complaining about the people who may have spent up to $150 thousand dollars to get a "woman of the people" dressed up for prime time?

Are liberals hypocrites? Will they try to destroy anyone who doesn't toe their line? Will they lie through their teeth to get what they want, by any means necessary?

Yes.

Yes, they are hypocrites; and they have clearly demonstrated that they will lie, cheat, steal, and do whatever is necessary to get what they want. The only thing that matters to them is an Obama victory.

  2. And I guess we are supposed to believe that Michelle Obama handwove and sewed Obama's suits from organically grown sheep? I don't know a single congressman or woman that doesn't have a main line of costly power suits in their closet. And BTW, what about all those coaches, flights, meals and other things from the Obama campaign. I hate to say it, but they would have trotted out the same line against Hillary Clinton. It's sexist. Why are the NOW women not calling them on it?

  3. Hermit: For a long time now, it's been apparent that in the DNC the ends justifies the means. So if you have to destroy someone publicly, hack into their emails, violate federal HIPAA laws to smear the candidate's family, it's okay just so long as you back the right candidate. I fear that if Obama wins, we will lose far more than just an election.

ellen k: I agree. Obama will introduce a suppressive government that will render the concept of liberty obsolete.

  5. The difference is one party says their core ideology is conservatism while the other has given up on that concept long ago. It's not the fact that money was spent on clothes, but the fact that so much money was spent by a group who still call themselves conservatives.

If they spent 5 billion to get Obama elected, I wouldn't care at all. It's all donations, Darren.

Should you research topics before blatantly making generalizations?

    Yes.

  7. I'll remember this when the Democrats cry about Republicans' "buying an election" in the future.

    Oh yes, I'll remember.

    Ummm, no. It isn't.

Not all donations it turns out are the same. For instance, the Chinese government has a vital interest in American policy and they've already shown that they have no hesitation in trying to influence the American political process to achieve their ends.

Obama's preferences in associates makes it clear that he's not all that concerned with the source of the money so long as he has plenty of it.

  9. And would Obama have all of those donations if he had stuck to his original promise to take public funding? And who gave those donations? You can check it out at opensecrets.org. The Venn diagram of corporations that donated to Obama AND McCain might prove interesting. And by the way, if, as I think, the market was manipulated by someone like Soros in order to affect the election, you will see a rise to 12000 the day after the election. They you will know the election has been bought and you have been had.

  11. Let's keep the main deal the main deal. I would hope someone running for office looks nice and presentable. Unfortunately, this happens on both sides if we think back to all the news about John Edwards and what he spent to get his hair done during the primaries. Is a certain color suit Sarah wears going to influence her judgment or decision-making? Would the conditioners on John Edwards head seep into his brain and cause him to think differently? I would hope not.
I was talking to students about mud-slinging last week. All the ads get so old! It would be nice if we could go back to times when one candidate said this is what I believe and this is what I would like to accomplish in office and the other candidate did the same. We could then take that information and make our decisions. The media get so old. Where are the reporters who are after the truth and report honestly? I do believe there are some out there. It is very unfortunate that we do not see more of them. Most are publishing news to make a buck not to make a difference.
