Crop Circle Design Indicates Pi

The fact that the design seems to represent pi still doesn't tell us who or what made it.

  1. Aliens who count in decimal?

  2. The ration holds no matter what numerical system one uses, since c/d=pi.

But if you want to be picky, Eric--yes, all aliens use decimal, even the Vulcans.

  3. But the representation as it was made requires base 10 to be interpreted properly. Each of the angles is a multiple of 36, so each angle is 36n. n1 is 3, n2 is 1, n3 is 4, etc. so in order for the angles to make any sense and be interpreted as the value equal to the ratio of the circumference and diameter of a circle, the observer must understand base 10.

  4. Don't you think that a species intelligent enough to get to earth and artistic enough to make such circles--all while avoiding our detection--would know that *we* use base 10 and leave us a message that we primitives could understand?

    Think, Eric, think!

  5. "...would know that *we* use base 10"

Except us computer programmers that use base 2, 8 and 16.

Hell, aliens are stupid enough to invade a planet where 2/3 of the surface is made of water when they are allergic to water!

    I hate that film!

  7. If God had wanted us to use a different base He wouldn't have given us ten fingers. Therefore it is God's law that we use the base ten. Users of other bases are heretics. All inter-galactic aliens know that.

I hope you don't actually write your source out in binary... even Torvalds couldn't do that.

Decoding assembly language was quite useful in the 70's where there wasn't much else for embedded processors...
