BEIRUT, Lebanon (Reuters) -- Raid Israel to capture soldiers, battle tanks in the valleys of southern Lebanon and launch Katyusha rockets at Israeli towns -- a new Hezbollah computer game puts players on the frontline of war with the Jewish state...
"This game presents the culture of the resistance to children: that occupation must be resisted and that land and the nation must be guarded," Hezbollah media official Sheikh Ali Daher said.
But Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev responded by saying: ''It should come as a surprise to no one that Hezbollah teaches children that hatred and violence are positive attributes.''

I don't like Hezbollah's ideology, but there's something not told here. And when in the West all the children play games like Delta Force, Amarica's Army and dozens of toher violence games in which missions sometimes consist in fighting Arabs. Isn't that a teaching for hatred and violence?
ReplyDeleteThink about it...before condemn others
I don't see how that's much different from the video game based on Left Behind:
ReplyDeletehttp://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2006/12/14/grand-theft-christianity/
The game is about killing or converting those who aren't Christian.
Great message!
Furthermore, the game is now being send by the US government to soldiers in Iraq.
Read the specifics of this game again, and tell me that the others you mention rise to this level of sickness.
ReplyDeleteIf they do, they do. But so far I haven't see that they do.
If you had been my high school teacher, I would have been so very, very ashamed for you. 42 and haven't really a clue as to world "spin". Keep on hating good and decent people for caring about the world and not just themselves. It'll come back someday to bite you right in the ass. "Compassionate conservatism" is an oxymoronic concept as well as waste of a great aphorism. But you know best, as you have so opined in many of those captious blogs of which you so passionately write. Slurring another group "lefties" et. al. is never the way into people's hearts, except those filled with maniacal retributive fantasies.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have captured the attention of the world.

The fake sympathy, the condescending tone, the insults--and writing completely off-topic, not even remotely addressing this post.
ReplyDeleteI can only assume you don't find anything wrong with this video game that teaches children to hate and kill Israelis and/or Jews?
The admiration of people like you, Ron, is not something to which I aspire. Go back to Daily Kos or Huffington Post, where you'll no doubt be with like-minded individuals.
