How Will The NEA Deal With This?

This has got to make them uncomfortable.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT) announced today -- National Teacher's Day -- that more than 4,000 teachers nationwide have received Teacher of the Year honors. The awards were given as part of the company's 12th annual Teacher of the Year program, and the winning teachers' schools received more than $4 million from the Wal-Mart & Sam's Club Foundation...

Since the Teacher of the Year program began in 1995, Wal-Mart has honored more than 25,000 teachers nationwide and donated more than $18.5 million to local schools. The company is one of the largest corporate supporters of teachers and education -- last year alone giving more than $57 million in support of educational initiatives.

But don't shop there. Right, NEA?

  1. The true agenda of the NEA will sign through as they will at the least ignore the generosity and community work of Wal-Mart. I have long voiced my displeasure over the activism of the union on this issue. What the heck does Wal-Mart's lack of union for workers have to with bettering working conditions for teachers. Maybe the union can browbeat and threaten Wal-Mart,Jesse Jackson style, into some discount coupons for teachers or something. I make a point of spending money on teaching supplies at Wal-Mart. I think old Reg would make a good greeter.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party, I'm sure the NEA feels about WalMart exactly as the party does: WalMart is the single deadly threat in the world the party recognizes and is willing to fight.
