The cognitive dissonance must be bursting veins in their little heads: gay marriages will now be recognized in Israel. That makes how many Middle Eastern countries now where homosexuality isn't illegal? Uh, probably one. And the Israelis probably aren't going to be toppling walls over onto the gays, or tossing them off tall buildings.
Fancy that.
Allen: What Mao, Pol Pot and Stalin did DOES ruffle "left-wing feathers," actually. It's odd that you think that it wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteAh well, go Israel. Always nice to see some fellow Jews doing something right. If only we could get the balls to legalize it.
Nigel, I haven't seen lefties criticizing Mao et.al. In fact, I still see plenty of them advocating for communism. International A.N.S.W.E.R., the same group that organized last May's illegal immigrant rallies and had a prominent role in an anti-Schwarzenegger rally hosted by the state teachers' union, is neo-Stalinist. Read about them here, including what the left-leaning New York Times has to say about them....

May have to cut/paste the URL, but I want to make sure you can read the whole thing.
No "lefties" I know support Mao, Pol Pot or Stalin, and by saying that we do you are showing just how little you think of us. We aren't known for advocating human suffering, and anyone realistic understands that is all that communism brings.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I tip my hat to Israel. If only the United States could face its crowd of close minded citizens and make marriage legal for everyone. Gay people getting married will not weaken the institution of marriage anymore then the huge amount of divorces we already recognize.
Of course they do, anonymous. International A.N.S.W.E.R. certainly does, and they're very close friends with your teachers' union, the CTA. How do I know? Because I went to the Day of Action Rally last year, and A.N.S.W.E.R. was there in a prominent role. Want to see? Go back to my May 2005 archives and scroll through all the posts--and the pictures--pertaining to the Day of Action Rally. As I said in one of those many posts, let's see what that bastion of conservative thought, the New York Times, has to say about them:

Answer, whose name stands for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, was formed a few days after Sept. 11, 2001, by activists who had already begun coming together to protest policies of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Some of the group's chief organizers are active in the Workers World Party, a radical Socialist group with roots in the Stalin-era Soviet Union. The party has taken positions that include defense of the Iraqi and North Korean governments and support for Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugolav president being tried on war crimes charges.

These peace-loving souls were also behind the May Day immigration rallies last Spring.
Some lefties may not support the monsters mentioned, but plenty support their policies--and as I just mentioned, plenty support the monsters as well.
