I admit it, I'm too trusting. Barring *clear* evidence to the contrary, I believe that people are telling the truth when they speak.
I have a book called The Penguin Book of Lies. Included in it is the text of Nixons 30 April 1973 speech about there being "no whitewash in the White House". When I read it, it sounds sincere and the explanation believable. If I didn't have any other facts available to me, I'd have bought it.
But in this day of the internet I have plenty of facts available to me. And I calls 'em as I sees 'em.
